Oil-Rich Arab State Pushes Nuclear Bid With U.S. Help

Most of us are aware of the tensions surrounding the Iraninan nuclear program. The United States has placed a significant amount of pressure on the Iranians to halt their program, under the assumption that nuclear weaposn are being constructed. While this article talks about UAE's nuclear program as a means of generating electricity, to me it hints at an attempt to deter Iran from developing their weapon. While nothing in this article references weapons, I believe that the United States assistance is an attempt to create another Pakistan-India relationship. If the Iranians take their program too far, the UAE will have the ability to develop a weapons program fairly rapidly, and setting up another MAD situation. This situation shows determined the United States is at stopping Iran, and how worried they must be about their program.
