To Save Money, M.I.T. Drops 8 Sports Teams

In order to cut back on their budget, MIT has dropped all varsity sports teams. Alpine Skiing, Competitive Pistol (what the heck is that??), wrestling, gymnastics, and men's/women's ice hockey were eliminated on Thursday (a cutback that will save the school $1.5 million).

Competitive pistol: where two team members do a bunch of crazy showy tricks with their guns (like juggling) and then take aim and shoot at each other, seeing which one has the better dance-away-from-the-bullet moves.

Alexander Hamilton was the captain of his competitive pistol team in his day, but unfortunately didn't have as good of moves as Aaron Burr.

We should start up a Hamilton team....seems like it's part of our college legacy.
