Dean claims he lit match for Obama
Howard Dean continues to praise himself and put his image towards the top of the discussion board for Democrats. In all honesty, I see him as a person who misplayed his own presidential campaign when he had such a big lead only to blow all of his money too early never to recover. He did lead the Democratic National Committee during Obama's rise to the top, but I don't really attribute Obama's success to Dean. Yes, Dean was a master of grassroots organization and did use the Internet to gain early steam in his own campaign, but he failed to use it effectively for a duration of time. Obama maximized on the technological savvyness of his campaign team and focused on drawing attention to himself through emails, social networking sites, and online videos. If Democrats really felt that Dean was so instrumental in leading the charge they would have rewarded him for his service, and since that has not happened I just cannot bring myself to give him the accolades that he is suggesting he deserves. However, I do see him as a person who can help get Obama the support he needs for universal health care given his background in medicine and his new post as a lobbyist so it may just be worth it for Obama to reach out and praise him for his efforts in the past.
