Bunning strikes out in first quarter
Jim Bunning's hopes for reelection are not looking good right now after he disclosed that his fundraising efforts are subpar. The one good thing I take from this is that at least Bunning hasn't been causing the same negative press for the Party as he was earlier in the year. By staying quiet and not causing commotion he may eventually be able to win back some of his colleagues' support. Bunning can revert back to his pitching days and think of this as the end of the third inning. When the game is not nearly half over there is still a chance to make a significant comeback and someone like Bunning definitely understands this principle. Putting together fundraisers with his celebrity friends is a great idea and I surely would want to sit in on a dinner with former Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda. Playing the right cards and schmoozing the right people may turn this race around if Bunning so desires because without the proper adjustments, I just see Bunning as a sitting duck waited to be taken off of his high throne.
