Plurality of New Yorkers Support Same-Sex Marriage

I was surprised by these polls, especially the finding that a bare majority of upstate New Yorkers support marriage equality (I suppose the usual upstate conservatism is tempered by a libertarian attitude on this issue). The debate has certainly come a long way since the acrimony of 2004; Governor Paterson's decision to push a same-sex marriage bill may actually help his electoral odds.
