Nuclear Watchdog to Elect Chief

This elections is something to watch in the next few months. With the United States attempting to reopen relations with Iran, and with growing international concern of the extent of Iran's nuclear program, the next head of the International Atomic Energy Agency will have a direct impact on our foreign policy. The head of the IAEA is an important position, as the nationality of the individual says a lot about how the international community feels on the issue. Personally, I would prefer the election of someone from a developed nation. An individual from a developed nation would focus more on the risks of nuclear proliferation, ensuring that the appropriate safeguards are in place.
