Napolitano says thanks but no thanks, DHS has funds

Given all of the talk in the news lately regarding the border security and drug trafficking, I would have expected to see the Department of Homeland Security be a willing acceptor of money being pushed for in Congress. I guess that they feel they have everything they need in place, which fiscally speaking sounds great, but may not be in the best interests of the nation right now. Its obvious that there are some problems with the border and coming from Arizona I know how strongly people feel about the issue on both sides. However, if DHS really wants to make a difference and continue with their political goals then funding is necessary to ensure that happens. I was against building the fence along the border because it just seemed like a waste of resources and would not solve any of the problems, but increasing the number of border patrol workers and resorting to other tactics might not be a bad idea if that is the direction of the new administration. The drug wars that are going on are unacceptable for country to stand back and allow to happen and having as many resources at your disposal to curb the problem just seems like the smarter way to go.
