Sen. Specter to oppose card check
Senator Specter may finally be realizing that if he wants to win reelection with the Republican Party, he needs to start siding with them on some of their key issues for their support and backing. Not that I am in favor of the card check bill, which in the way it is crafted right now does not appear to be the most viable solution to the issue that is trying to be addressed, but I find it a bit strange that all of the sudden Senator Specter changed his stance on the Employee Free Choice Act. When it was first offered in the Senate, he seemed to be a proponent of the bill and at the time he was in the middle of serving out his term so he could go out on a limb because he would have time to appease everyone's interests in time. Now that the heat is turned on we can see how important Party loyalty and interest groups are in getting things either passed or blocked from enactment.
