Stimulus not enough to spur full green transition for Arizona economy
I knew that Arizona was dedicating it efforts towards more environmentally friendly policies, but I did not know the extent to which we are moving towards a green economy. The main source of energy that I see that has the potential to become a big producer for our state is solar energy. Although it wasn't mentioned in the article, I think solar energy is really going to be the key if we want to create more jobs and lower energy costs. We have the sun directly beaming down on us all day long and what better way to put into use than heating buildings and homes. In all reality, the only way I saw a stimulus package as having a major effect would have been if it was about three times as much as the final number. That being said, Arizona is not one of the big recipients of money and so we need to be working smarter with our budget deficit if we want to overcome the struggles. I do not believe we should be spending tons of state money on energy efficiency programs when our state is one of the worst in education in the country. To me education comes before energy efficiency right now and unfortunately that does not seem to coexist with state leaders who are reducing the funding for education by a significant amount despite our troubles.
