Rep. Mack leaving Senate quest to Crist

Charlie Crist is looking to deliver good news to the Republican Party and I cannot imagine how running for Senate would not accomplish this. Crist is very well liked in Florida and he gives the Party the best chance of winning and retaining power from Florida. It says something about Crist when people who would be in line for the position say they won't even consider running against him. He definitely has things going for him if he decides to run, which at this point seems like a good idea. I like the fact that he is willing to at least talk with the other side about issues of importance like the stimulus package. He should appeal to the base with his stances on civil union, abortion, and gun control and running in this Senate race would definitely be meaningful for the Party. Republicans have to put up the best candidates if they stand a chance at keeping the filibuster alive and with Crist it seems like they have a good one to run with.
