Responsibility

One of the key themes that President Obama touts in his speeches and addresses to the nation is responsibility. I see the value in promoting a theme such as this only if it is truly utilized in the way it is mentioned. At this point President Obama really has to be responsible in all of his policy moves because the nation will suffer dearly without it in the future. Rather than focusing media attention to whether or not pork spending is occurring, he should be looking at the impact of such spending before he allows it to occur. Earmarks aren't bad if they bring economic advantages back into communities that gravely need help. Yet, when the earmarks start to turn into memorials being built in other countries, that is where we might need to draw the line.
