Postal Service to Close Offices, Seek Retirements

You know things are bad when the Post Office is being forced to significantly downsize its operations. I am amazed by the numbers that are being put out there with almost 15% of the entire working force being asked to retire early and the closure of six large district offices that house over 500 working staff members. It is understandable that we would see the post office to have a deficit given that even during the best of times, we do not see a profit being made. I just hope that this type of action does not lead to a reduced quality of service or efficiency in the deliverance of mail.
