NY candidate: No death penalty for 9/11 plotters

One of the issues that both Tedisco and Murphy are now bringing to light is the notion of the death penalty. Murphy has said that he is against the death penalty in all situations including the cases of the 9/11 plotters who essentially led us into the state of terror alert that we face everyday now. Technically it is allowable by law in New York among many other states for the death penalty to be on the table when deciding potential sentences for criminals. If there ever were to be favor for it, I would imagine that the 9/11 terrorists would stand out for cause. Not that this issue really will play its way into the House for a large debate, but it is still interesting to see that Murphy is strong enough in his beliefs to rule out any circumstances of accepting the death penalty as an option. Where I could see this coming before the House is if President Obama wants legislation regarding Guantanamo Bay done through Congress rather than executive orders and through the Justice Department, which I don't see as a likely option.
