Cantor: Stem-cell reversal a distraction
I can see where House Minority Whip Eric Cantor is coming from in that President Obama appears to be trying to deflect some of the negativity of the economic situation with his decision to sign an executive order today about stem cell research. However, it also is a way for President Obama to get things done without having to bother Congress or waste their time as they deal with the situation. The President really does not have as much influence on how the economy will be fixed, whereas Congress does and can pass measures designed to implement plans. And if President Obama feels injustice is being done with the lack of research available for stem-cells, then it is best to correct the order as soon as possible.
