Yesterday I was fortunate enough to see the elephants for the Ringling Brothers Circus walk their way to the Verizon Center with a few of my colleagues. I did not see any of the prodding or chains that the article mentions, but I can see why it may be an animal rights issue if they use them during performances. The elephants did look a bit sickly and were obviously not in top shape, but I am not sure the cause of it. It still was nice to see elephants walking down the street with police escorts clearing the way and I would highly recommend seeing them this weekend as I am sure they will probably put on a good show.

Animal rights, circus lawyers differ on elephants
