House backs bill to increase service opportunities

Michelle Obama may see one of her goals accomplished if the Senate votes to increase the number of national service participants in Americorps and other similar programs. She has stated that she is very interested in bringing back service into the lives of our youth and this appears to be a big step in the right direction. Although the cost of such a move will probably be expensive, I see this as a good way to encourage people to give back to the nation and work towards solving some of the greatest ills facing the nation.
