They're Everywhere!

A quick break from the never-ending GOP Primary...

I've been wanting to post about my hometown, Portland OR, for quite a while now. Portland is a beautiful city with impressive urban design, a great transportation system, and sustainability programs that are mirrored throughout the nation. However, Portland is also considered the 'hipster theme park of America.' Although the Washington Post claimed in January that Portland is out and Pittsburgh is in, DC seems to think otherwise.

With Senator Hatch recently stating that Obama has traded in the hardhat for a "hipster fedora and a double skim latte," I could not think of a more fitting time to share the below links on the rise and (hopefully) fall of hipster culture. From Brooklyn's baby lattes, Hamilton's Darksiders, Portland's Portlandia TV show, to signs that hipsters are headed to DC, it seems to be that no matter where you go, you can always find someone hipper than you.

Don't forget to...  Stay hip with cool kids of DC
