I read this yesterday, and I feel like it's too much of a long shot. (Then again so was Palin.) But this is too close of a race for Romney not to pick someone that's going to grab him either a state or a large demographic (or both). I can't see Washington turning Red and Palin didn't exactly pump up women voters, either.

I think that's leaving him with people like Rob Portman, Marco Rubio, Pat Toomey, or Bob McDonell. Each of those men would bring Romney a significant benefit. They would probably all be fine with the Tea Party, too.

You're probably right. Rubio's job to choose or not?

I think so at this point. It hits all of the points he wants to hit: Latinos, Tea Party, and Florida. Plus, it allows him to remain tough on immigration. He's also not "boring." Rubio's the right political choice, it's just a matter of him getting through the vetting process I think.
