You've met Bo the Dog; It's time for Bo the Book

The Obama marketing campaign is still in full effect and people continue to push out products trying to capitalize on his hype. The new dog added to their family is no longer excluded from this as a book will be coming out for children. I think the book idea is good from the standpoint that children can gain a sense of what goes on in the White House on an everyday basis and see some of the more recreational activities that make living there so special. I would have liked to read a book like this when I was growing up as it would have provided me with an alternative perspective to think about. Even more fascinating than this new book was an article that I caught in the New York Times today in which people were weighing in on whether Bo understands how special living in the White House actually is. The mixed statements made me wonder whether it is any different than living a pampered lifestyle for dogs because in the end the dog probably gets the same amount of love and attention where the dog is now as the dog could if it lived with another young family. The Obama girls now have something to take care of and call their own and hopefully they can live up to their responsibilities and demonstrate that they are mature enough to do so.
