Quinn's new campaign finance reform: everybody start at zero

In one of the more surprising moves of Governor Quinn's short term in office, he is trying to change the campaign finance game in Illinois. I do not agree with his argument that everyone should start at zero to try and even the playing field because one of the ways you can prove that you are capable of leading an effective team. I am against the notion that money should be the only reason a candidate ends up winning because I would hope that a person's ability to run a political office and the public's confidence in that person would lead to the right person winning. However, I do not see how we can punish a person who has built up a war chest in hopes of spreading the attack early and often to come and win the governorship. One of the things that keeps politics interesting is the notion that you need to campaign even when you are in office and for Quinn not to be an effective fundraiser should not allow him to gain an advantage that he normally would not have. Like the old adage goes, if you can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen. Quinn is lucky to be in power right now and he needs to prove his worth during the next election cycle if he wants to retain his position.
