Poll: Christie still leading NJ gov
Governor Jon Corzine has fallen with the best of them. I thought he was going to be one of the more recognized officials for a long time to come when he first started his term in office, but now I really see no recourse available to him and the Democratic Party. Republicans have not had to do a whole lot to get the huge edge in the polls as Corzine is just so hated by the voters of New Jersey. I actually think Republican candidate Chris Christie is very well qualified for the position and would do a good job at reinvigorating the local economy. I have followed his career since he made headlines in the early 2000s with his consistent winning streak in the courtroom as the NJ Attorney General. His battles against corruption and wastefulness brought justice for the citizens of NJ and helped recover some costs to a state in need. I like his plan for education reform that focuses on getting parents involved in their children's academic experience. One of the main problems with our school system today is that once students return home from school they are not disciplined enough to focus on their school work and when parents do not take an interest in what is taking place, the children fail to acknowledge the importance of getting a proper education. With Christie's family man appearance, I am glad to see him winning even if it is due to dislike of the opposition.
