On the Job, but on the Lookout for Work

Oh, the ever dreaded topic of job networking...
Through outlets such as LinkedIn or networking retreats, many people are trying to expand their job networks because of the fear that they may be laid off this year. The new motto seems to be "it is easier to find a job if you already have one" (or at least know who to ask when you do get laid off).
