Murphy's lead shrinks to 13 votes

I cannot believe the race is this close after the special election in New York. This is a where one person's vote actually makes a difference because of the limited number of votes separating each candidate. Republicans have to be preparing themselves for another battle like they are putting forth in the Senate if not just for a symbolic measure. Obviously, this one seat in the House isn't going to change the tide or voting patterns of other members in the body, but if Republicans find a way to squeeze out a victory in this race they will be better prepared to launch an attack on other similar seats during the next midterm election. I thought the campaign run by the candidate Tedisco was poorly done and the commercials that I saw were not anything special to catch my attention. I thought Tedisco was a cinch to win the election when things began because in reality all Republicans had to do was show how government spending could be considered wasteful and not stimulating the economy in a timely manner. To his credit Murphy and the Democrats were effectively able to counter these messages with a strongly run advertisement campaign that boosted Murphy's credibility and served as a boost to President Obama's initiatives. If Republicans cannot even win a district that they are favored and have a higher voter base, then how do they expect to win down the road? Learning from this campaign will be the key as Republicans need to implement a better communication strategy and focus on candidates who will have wide public appeal.
