Unfortunately I did not get to watch this hockey game live due to the time of day that it was on, but just watching some of the highlights and the key moments in the game I believe it is safe to say that the Washington Capitals are on thin ice and enter a must win game in New York on Monday night. Even though I do not have a vested interest in either team, I thought the series would be a nice one considering the star potential on the ice and it is turning out to be a good one for the Rangers and a disappointment for the Capitals. I liked the decision that Capitals coach Boudreau made in replacing Jose Theodore in net because he was just plain awful in their last game and has been struggling the entire season. His replacement was pretty good in his first career postseason game, but he was outdueled by Lundqvist who played one of the best games of his career. I think if Washington is to have any shot at getting back into this series they need to stick with Varlamov in net and pay attention a little bit more to their defense. I think Ovechkin will bounce back in Game 3, but it will be up to his teammates to make the series interesting again.
