Jobless make TV ads pitching themselves for work
I think this is a very cool idea and I am impressed that news stations would allow jobless citizens to put together a commercial to promote themselves. The exposure that a commercial could provide them is way better to me than any potential 5000 person line waiting for a job at the local sports stadium as happened in Los Angeles recently. You really have to be sharp when you come on television because you only have 30 seconds to give across an image of yourself as the best worker available to fulfill any job opening. I think it would be very difficult to do such a task because like Mr. Baker said during our networking party, you really can't boil yourself down to a piece of paper or 30 seconds of conversation. You are worth much more than you can ever describe and so these commercials have to be the best shot of yourself that you can possibly put out there. I am not sure how successful these commercials will be, but it can't hurt to explore more avenues of employment because the traditional ones and the Internet sources are probably being bogged down by the large pool of unemployed workers. This way you can put yourself out there and wait to here back from people who think you would fit into their company rather than you having to take the initial step for the meeting.
