Friends, foes cash in on Palin

I just find it hard to imagine how we got to the point where Sarah Palin is now one of the biggest names in the political arena. Being honest, I did not know much about her until choosing to take part in the presidential election and she just doesn't seem to be the leader that Republicans need to be taking advantage of their current situation. In reality, Palin does have the ability to transform the abortion groups because of her stance and how she has led by example in her own personal life. I would like to see her take more of an active role in her own state's legislative politics and gain more of a backbone to stand on before we start anointing her the next great Republican leader. She is a person of significant interest and I do not fault her for using the media attention to boost her political career, but at some point she has to consider the practicality of improving what she has right now and taking down President Obama by herself in the next election. She would have had a much better chance if she went after Alaska's Senate seat because she probably would have been elected. To me the job of a Senator seems pretty good and if she was able to entrench herself in that position she could have set herself up for life. Now she is going to have to work harder than ever to prove her value and worth to not only Republicans, but also the independents who may shift the election next time around.
