Freshman Democrats rake in the cash
Fundraising has become so important now in politics with the new ways to engage the public through the media, canvassing, and technological improvements. Republicans have not done a good job getting their money so far and if they want to have any chance for significant change in the next election then they are going to have to step up their efforts. To be basically doubled by their Democratic counterparts is a bit embarrassing given that none of the Freshmen have done much to show their significance to Congress. I do not think that Republicans will be turned off by their deficits and I still see them going after the Freshmen Representatives on the floor to make them look incapable of leadership, but they need to be doing more. Candidates should be shaping up in the key battleground areas already and if they do not then Republicans really should be getting back into the game of fundraising and helping out their comrades in their bids for reelection and election. As it stands now, I can only see a small number of seats actually shifting into Republican hands come next election and things like this fundraising deficit do not help the cause.
