Dean, Emanuel bury the hatchet

I think Howard Dean and Rahm Emanuel had to make amends and get over the conflict that they had with one another a couple of years ago. Emanuel and Dean need each other at this time if they are going to have any success in the health care agenda. Although Dean works as a lobbyist now, he still holds significant power with grassroots organizations and he can be a huge help to the Obama administration. Dean is on the same page with the desire to get universal health care for Americans, and if Obama needs some extra juice to carry things over the top then Dean would be a huge ally. If I were Dean I would still be mad about how he was passed over for the Health Services Secretary because essentially he clinched Obama's victory for him during the primary season with his decision to punish the states that held their primaries earlier than they should have. Dean has been hit hard by Democrats recently and although I do not particularly like the guy, some of it does seem a bit unjustified. By Emanuel taking the step to reach out to Dean maybe things can become more cordial and lead to policy changes that the Obama administration values.
