Dodd's approval numbers drop to new lows

Republicans can be proud of something right now with Senator Dodd's fall from grace. However, I still see reason for concern for Republicans with the seat because as we saw with the New York race polling figures changing over a short period of time. Yet, there may be some movement towards a more conservative outlook for Connecticut with Senator Lieberman leading the way. He hasn't been so engrossed with the Democratic Party over the last few years and if he can win then it stands to reason that a Republican has a chance of winning on merit with a well-run campaign. Dodd is obviously in big trouble and it may solely be his mistakes he has made while in office that will lead voters to hold him accountable for some of the nation's problems. I am willing to forgive Dodd on the bonus issue because many people had the opportunity to change the language, but failed to do so. However, I cannot let his mortgage abuse slide because he received benefits because of who he is and what he could potentially due for the company rather than thinking about what is proper and moral for all other Americans. Lessons need to be learned from criminal actions and for someone like Dodd to fail to acknowledge his problems is something that should keep him from getting the votes he needs for reelection.
