Coleman Dodges Egg-Throwing Vandal in Minnesota

What have we come to with the egging of public officials. Norm Coleman is prolonging the inevitable defeat he stands to suffer at the hands of Al Franken, but that is no reason to throw eggs at the guy. He represented Minnesota very well after coming in under difficult circumstances and he deserves the respect from his constituents if not as a representative of them, then as a fellow Minnesotan. Its too bad there isn't any video of the near dodge that Coleman made to avoid getting hit because it would probably become a YouTube sensation similar to the nice duck that President Bush made over in Iraq. Thinking about what has transpired over this long fought out battle for the Senate seat has made me question just how powerful representation can be. I do not really care who wins as long as they are able to start serving their constituents and the rest of the nation in a way that reflects the confidence of those who voted for them. The Senate needs people to be in place and working on the many issues that we are facing and that need to be dealt with. Letting legal battles take this long does not help either party involved in the sense of legislating in the right way. Even though Republicans are benefiting from the battle I still would rather have them continue holding Democrats accountable through their proposals and fault findings of their opposition rather than by legal hangups.
