CNN to treat Obama's 100th day like election night
I like the fact that we are going to be holding the Obama administration accountable with nights of reporting and a look back at what has transpired throughout his presidency so far. The problem that I have with it is we really will not know the degree to which he has been successful or unsuccessful in his political agenda until we see how the stimulus and budget plans actually turn out in the next few years. Keeping up to date analysis of the key bills and measures that have been passed is a good thing for the everyday citizen who has not been able to follow the news as much as they would like. Given that CNN is struggling in its ratings compared to how it normally performs in the television news market, I can see why getting back to the basics would be a good way to capture some new viewers on this night. Getting political analysts together on the channel is a good way for both sides to come out on the Obama administration accomplishments even though Republicans will probably be discounted by others simply because of the more liberal leaning of CNN. I am looking forward to seeing some of their reactions and to gain a better sense of how America views the presidency because we are in trying times right now, but if we have hope in the future we might just be ok in the short term.
