Blogs clash over whether Google could buy Twitter

I think Twitter would be fortunate to gain a partner like Google to prepare for its future in the technological market. By itself, I see Twitter as an avenue that has the potential to continue on like a Facebook if it is run properly. Google is one of the most innovative companies in the country and I am sure they would be able to utilize the technology in the most user friendly manner possible. The key has to be whether Twitter sees itself as a marketing tool that can combine the posts of its users with advertisement revenue that does not detract from the product. Google has to see Twitter as something of extreme value considering that it has acted so quickly in putting together a partnership and to me that indicates they already have plans to monetize and grow the product if they can get their hands on it. I think after having seen how popular Twitter is right now, a company like Google is something that can benefit not only the public, but also the technology itself. Without partnering or looking towards better ways to improve the product, I see Twitter as a short term fad that may even end up like MySpace.
