Utah's Bennett faces primary fight
We all know how strong the Republican Party runs in Utah, but for Senator Bennett to be in a contested primary race it is pretty surprising. Having the advantage of being an incumbent would typically lead to a strong lead in terms of financial and resource support, but he is going to be in a tough race to get through his primary in 2010 against the state's attorney general Shurtleff. Bennett has the ability to win reelection, but he is going to have to pull out all the stops and prove to his constituents that he is the one who will best support their interests and values in Washington. If he can do this then he will be the victor of not only the primary, but also the race against whomever the Democrats throw out.
