Papers won't get bailout anytime soon

Although I enjoy seeing newspapers maintain their paper form, I do not think it would be wise to go forward with a bailout proposal for the newspaper industry. With the shift to a more digital world, it is unwise to invest in an idea that seems destined to be replaced in time. Also, I am a bit skeptical of the government providing the media with a bailout given that news is supposed to provide accountability and provide the public with information about those who they do not have enough time to follow on a regular basis. I do not think newspaper reporters would change their writing, but the possibility that it could happen raises some questions. Hopefully, newspapers are able to find additional sources of revenue that will enable them to continue because they do provide a unique social value to the lives of those who read them.

There is no way the government would bail out news media. You mentioned it earlier, but they cannot be giving money to the groups that are expected to hold them accountable...its too risky.
