I was interested in seeing some of the things that President Obama spent his transition money on and this article gives a pretty good list. I can see why the biggest expense would be travel, but did taxpayers really need to fund a vacation trip to Hawaii for Obama and his family? Of the $5.1 million spent through federal money, there were definitely things that did not need to be as expensive such as upgrades to temporary living conditions and over $30,000 to individuals who worked less than three months. Yet, this is just something that comes with the territory and so the waste of governmental spending does not really shock me in this instance.
