Leftist Party Wins Salvadoran Vote

An historical election took place in El Salvador on Sunday, marking an end of a two decade-long rule by the right. The victory of the F.M.L.N. leftist party inspired the El Salvadorian people, who stated that together they could overcome oligarchy.
This election was reminiscent of the US one, with higher voter turnout than ever before and the winning candidate proposing hope and change. Hopefully this victory of the voters over the incumbent party will continue to spread through more developing democratic nations, resulting in more free and fair elections.
