So Ends the Turducken Era

At this point it seems most of the people that watch sports will have already heard the news. Our beloved sportscaster; the one who could make all the obvious calls, at only the most evident moments, has retired. What he leaves behind is not only a legacy of sayings that can be remembered. John Madden transformed the game of football from what can be a complex string of formations and plays to the stuff that everyday people can understand. While he admittedly dumbed down the sport I so love, he also exposed so many that would have other wised not paid attention to that very same game. This bus riding, straight talking, and lyrically unconventional broadcaster made it fun to watch football. Whether you were "into" the game he covered or not you knew one thing for sure Madden would indeed make it interesting, and when he did you wouldn't want to be the only sports fan that missed out. This Super Bowl will indefinitely be one of change, with it we are left as a football watching generation to ponder who could fill such large shoes. The only unfortunate thought I am left with is that the next generation will likely not appreciate the joy that was had watching him in action.
