Senator and Oscar Winner Join Forces to Reintroduce Bill Honoring Harvey Milk

Having seen the recent movie that Sean Penn starred in, I can see how important Harvey Milk was not only to the state of California, but to the nation as a whole. I like the idea of honoring Milk because he stood up for his beliefs regardless of the opposition he felt. For him to have gone through what he did in order to make a name for himself in politics, it took a lot of gusto and for that I applaud him. It will be interesting to see if the bill in California gets passed considering that they just banned gay marriage again in the state during the November election. If it does get passed does that mean something like Proposition 8 has a chance in the next election? I think it is difficult to say, but it sure wouldn't hurt the cause.
