Palin rejects over 30% of stimulus money

Sarah Palin is standing up for more partisan politics with her decision to reject some of federal stimulus money. Although it is understandable to not be in total agreement with what her state has received, there are some questions that I have regarding her decision. The first stands for education in which she rejected $170 million that was supposed to go towards education programs for economically disadvantaged and special needs students. Education is an issue that should transform above party politics and for her to reject money that could potentially help students get the education they need for future success is problematic. The other issue I have with her decision is that she does not view the transportation projects in the same light as education. Yes, creating jobs and strengthening projects within the state is important, but it is a bit unclear exactly how well Alaska knows how to find proper projects. The bridge to nowhere has gotten a lot of flack by the media and rightfully so. I just hope we don't find ourselves in another position such as this again.
