Gov. Paterson makes a 'sacrifice' & takes pay cut

Although I like that Governor Patterson has agreed to give back money to the state, it seems to me as a inauthentic gesture. First off, I do not know how a governor can make more than our congressmen in D.C. Governor Patterson hasn't done a whole lot lately to justify his large salary. Second, I think this is just a way to repair some ill will he has faced recently, rendering the move as less of a concern for the state and more of one for himself. I don't know what he expects the state to be able to do with $7900, but at least is a nice start at reducing the large debt.
