Friedman's Chilling Prediction

What will future generations call our present? Friedman says he has no doubts that this time in history will be known as "The Great Disruption." We really don't know the dips and jolts in this new roller coaster ride, but hopefully we will be prepared.

Also...
This may be a little off topic, but the article inspired another thought in me: What will the effects of new media be on how we are viewed in history? All events will be so well known and documented - for whatever reason, for me, if I were a student of American history in 2100 studying 2008/9, a time when everything that can be done has been done (eg., Fireside Chats would not turn a head today) and not much is novel, the mysterious charm that always accompanied "history" would be lost on me. But who knows, blogging and the internet may just be that charm, and we don't even know it.
