Congresswoman With Ties to Bank Helped Seek Funds

It is frustrating to see that the Treasury failed to conduct proper research on a bank that it aided with TARP. Even though the bank that received $12 million is not necessarily a bad investment, it is discouraging to see that they did not know that Congresswoman Waters of California had ownership ties to the bank when she suggested it receive funding. I don't mind seeing banks getting help, but be honest and open with details before you come out for it. It is obvious that the bank was deserving of the money given that the Treasury decided to fund it, but the conflict of interest should have prevented the Congresswoman from making it a top funding priority for the nation.
