A fascinating and productive day

After a lively seminar discussion about campaign finance, the DC group visited the World Bank. During a working lunch, Hasan Tuluy P' 08, VP Human Resources at the World Bank and generous friend of Hamilton and the Washington Program, discussed the operations of the Bank, challenges facing the organization, and careers in international development. The group was then treated to a fascinating briefing by leaders of the Banks ICT group about how cell phones, social media, and geospatial mapping are being harnessed to development, governance, and transparency.

In the photo, the DC group is standing in the atrium of the World Bank in front of a statue commemorating the successful battle of African nations and the international community against river blindness.
