Soaking the Rich Could Close the Deficit

Contrary to right-wing talking points spread from Michele Bachmann, to the Wall Street Journal, to Fox News, to everywhere else on the right, a 100% tax on the top 1% would close next year's deficit. A 100% tax on the top 10% would close the deficit for the next couple of years. Not saying I support this policy at all, just trying to undermine the right's deception with this talking point, which is used to justify Paul Ryan's plan and attack President Obama's.
