I generally dislike Thomas Friedman's writing, but...


I thought this week's piece made a few good points.

Is he still pushing China as a role model for governance?

I was mostly referring to the budget deficits/markets responding aspect. I know that climate change is a myth, so Mother Nature will never "make the adjustments for us"

I like the part about Obama and the polls. I think he could be a force in moving polls, but instead he just bases all of his decisions off what the polls are already saying.

That specific line ("It is what a lot of Obama supporters find frustrating about him: They voted for Obama to change the polls not read the polls.") was the real reason why I posted the article. He needs to take more risks and principled stands- I don't expect him to be out and front leading on EVERY issue, but I don't think it's that hard to pick one or two...
