Not that I'm opposed to harnessing charter schools as part of a comprehensive education reform plan (with significant controls)... but there is no strong or consistent evidence that charter schools perform any better than traidtional public schools. They have a very mixed record of success- just like public schools, some do much better and others do much worse.
