Rep. Paul Broun thinks Nancy Pelosi is an enemy of the constitution

"When I was sworn into the Marine Corps, I was sworn to uphold the Constitution against every enemy, foreign and domestic. We've got a lot of domestic enemies of the Constitution and one of those sits in the speaker's chair of the United States Congress, Nancy Pelosi." -- Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA)

At what point do we say that we expect better from our elected officials?

Could you imagine this being said about any of the previous (Republican) Speakers? Republicans would throw such a hissy fit, the country wouldn't know what hit it.

Remember, an anonymous liberal blogger compared Bush to Hitler and it was national news for a few days. This same Representative has compared Obama to Hitler and he just keeps on talkin'.

Mhh, mabye it's because the claim isn't that outrageous....

Really though, Andre?

You actually think Nancy Pelosi is an enemy of the Constitution?

I wouldn't call her an "enemy" of the Constitution, but she's certainly not without fault regarding some of her comments, like you said:

She should just stand by her recent statement: "If anybody is going to apologize...everybody should, and heated rhetoric shouldn't get in the way of the complex job of overhauling the health care system."

And comments like Broun's are not resulting in more Republican Congressional disfavor than Democratic:

Yes Lach, I agree. My post is in response to Evan when he asked if I believe Pelosi is an enemy of the Constitution. Now, do I think she's an "enemy"? No. Do I think she has a lack of respect for it, and what it stands for? Yes, and it is shown through her statements in the article I posted.

Indeed.

That comment is basically what someone claimed to overhear in conversation. Do you have any other news outlet to confirm that quote? Because I think that'd be, er, major news.

I think it's really screwed up (and that's putting it lightly) that Nancy Pelosi's "far left" liberalism (which is really pretty much in the mainstream of the Democratic party) is something conservatives perceive as being opposed to the Constitution.

I think that's unfair, misinformed, and offensive. I think a lot of conservative ideas are wrong. But you don't see me saying that tax cuts are unconstitutional.

The "comment" I meant was the one Andre linked.

C'mon Evan, the author and the Newsmax article seem credible, but if you insist...

Andre, it's an echo room. They're all re-quoting the same one guy. I don't see even FOX News reporting on this; don't you think they'd be all over it?
