What was Weiner thinking?

The worst effort at news management I have seen in a long time.

Agreed. His story was fishy from the beginning, and I'm assuming it was him in the photo that he posted himself. It seems difficult to cover up this kind of story in today's internet and media environment, so the real problem for Weiner began earlier. I don't understand why politicians can't keep their pants...or shirts on. If you want to do this kind of stuff, don't hold a position in the public eye. And don't post crap like this on the internet- do things in person so it's only a he said/she said thing. So ridiculous

I don't really care about the issue, but I don't understand the argument for obfuscation. Just allow the authorities to investigate if it really wasn't you.

From Gary Hart to Bill Clinton to John Edwards, there's something pathological about politicians and politically risky sex.

Chris Lee ranks high on the kinkiness scale, but at least he exited gracefully-- and quickly.

Don't forget the recent history of scandals plaguing Mark Sanford (and his Argentinean love-of-his-life), Schwarzenegger impregnating a household staff member, Ensign attempting to buy off his mistresses’ husband, Vitter and prostitutes arranged through the DC Madame, Eliot Spitzer and his call girl, New Jersey Governor McGreevey’s bisexual threesomes, NY Governor David Paterson getting around, Foley hitting on male congressional pages- which House leadership apparently didn’t think was a big deal, “pro-family” Larry Craig in Minneapolis bathrooms soliciting an undercover cop for gay sex, Gingrich and Bob Livingston cheating on their wives while excoriating Clinton, etc. What a bunch of whack-jobs.

I missed this scandal because I haven't been tuning into cable news. Can we talk about the multitude of actual problems facing our country?
