Obama remakes political rules

Was President Obama's victory the reason for the choice of Michael Steele as the GOP chairman? Probably, it was a contributing force. But is this a bad thing? I am very happy that the Republican Party has finally realized that the campaign trail is changing and that once was may not still be. It will be interesting to see if Steele can now follow through on his party's hope of resurrection in the midterm election of 2010 and bring back some of the lost independent voters.
