Inauguration 09

I also had a front row seat to the ceremony on tuesday, right next to Charlie. This Inauguration did not have any specific moments that I feel will be remembered for years to come (except for the Robert's fumble) but this Inauguration just had a different feel to it. I know I am biased, but I just felt that ceremony and the entire day was different and exciting for obvious reasons. However, there was just a different feeling I had watching the day's events, a feeling I really cannot describe. Some of the day was hard to sit through, as every telecast on every network was abysmal. In hindsight, I wish I had muted the entire thing except for the actual ceremony. Overall it was an exciting day and I am glad that I watched the event from home.

One additional point. I do not believe that Obama will have long honeymoon many were expecting he would have. Since starting my internship, I and my other interns have gotten about 1000 calls regarding his decisions and appointments during his few days in office. The American people are more anxious than ever to see change and results. I admit I have been somewhat naive in thinking he has total support of the country. I was wrong. (Look at Rush's comments.) I understand that the expectations are unfair, yet he still must make some significant changes or he will not be around for a second term. The Republican party will make sure of it.
